You can use a pencil or marker to draw this pumpkin.

How To Draw A Pumpkin – Step By Step

In each step of the instructions, the blue lines will show you what you need to draw. The black lines represent what has already be drawn in previous steps.

Step 1

First draw an oval shape. Pumpkins can come in all sorts of shapes – round like a circle, wide and chunky, or tall and narrow – but in this drawing tutorial I’ll be making mine like a squashed oval.

Step 2

Next, add a stem to the top of your pumpkin. The stem is made from two lines that go up from the top of the pumpkin a little bit and then are connected at the top.

Step 3

Now add four vertical lines to the pumpkin. These lines show that the pumpkin isn’t smooth like a tomato, but ribbed with lines that go from top to bottom. You can make the lines slightly rounded.

Ta-da! You have now drawn a simple pumpkin. Looks pretty good!

Step 4

Want to draw a pumpkin for Halloween? Let’s turn this pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern by adding a face to it.

To draw a pumpkin face, start by drawing two triangles for the eyes. The triangles have a point at the top and are flat on the bottom.

Step 5

Add another triangle for the pumpkin’s nose. This triangle is flat on the top and has a point at the bottom. Draw a mouth with jagged notches fo the pumpkin’s teeth.

Step 6

Lastly, color in your pumpkin with orange for the face and black for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Use brown for the stem.

That’s it! You’ve now learned how to draw a pumpkin – easy, wasn’t it? 🙂

Now you can try drawing pumpkins in different sizes, shapes, or with different types of faces. You can make your pumpkin look scary, happy, sad, or cute.
